Dimensions

Need a sofa in a precise width to fit a particular spot in your lounge? Or perhaps you’ve found a design you like but it isn’t quite big enough to seat every member of the family? Both our standard and corner sofas can be made to measure in virtually any size. Just tell us the size you need and we’ll supply it! Or utilise our home measuring service for peace of mind.

Alongside width, we can also alter the depth of the seat from front to back to suit your height. For example, we can reduce seat depths for the more petite or extend them for taller people.

Likewise, we can raise or lower the height of each sofa’s frame, back cushions and seat cushions upon request. Ideal if you struggle with getting up from low sitting positions or you’d seeking extra back support. And if you opt for a matching armchair, we can adjust its size too!

Upholstery

A list of standard fabrics can be found alongside each of our made to measure sofas on our website. This includes high quality leather and fabrics in a variety of colours, and even cosy sheepskin designs in some cases. But we can also supply made to order sofas with custom upholstery.

The fabric library at our Horsham showroom features thousands of options by top brands Romo, Warwick, Wemyss and Ross Fabrics. This includes plain and printed designs in velvet, chenille, linen and more. What’s more, all are highly wear-resistant for frequent use.

Alternatively, you could upgrade to a new technology fabrics like Aquaclean or Fibreguard. These cleverly designed materials are woven to repel liquids, stains and dust, for easier cleaning and fewer allergens. Great if you have pets or young children prone to spills!

Cushion fillings

Once you’ve found the right sofa style, why not customise it to your preferred level of comfort? Each model can be specified with soft or firm back and seat cushions, or a combination!

Foam cushions provide a firm core that holds its shape well, minimises wrinkles and offers good support when sitting for long periods. Fibre and feather-filled cushions are softer and mould around you for a more relaxed shape and feel. Perfect if you love sinking into your sofa.

Or for the best of both worlds, why not opt for a foam core seat pad with a plush fibre wrap? This will add comfort and springiness, without the worry of sagging. Or you can mix your cushion types, such as foam seat cushions paired with soft pillow backs. The choice is yours!

Legs and feet

Additionally, you can tailor the style of your made to measure sofas legs or feet to suit your taste. Tapered legs offer a more modern look, while elegant turned legs are more traditional. However, you can always swap the leg style out to give a classic sofa design a more contemporary look.

Whichever you choose, all sofa legs and feet are crafted from durable hardwood and can be stained or painted as preferred. Standard options include oak, walnut, ebony, and grey stains designed to enhance the natural wood grain. However, we can also colour match any RAL paint shade to complement your sofa fabric and other items of furniture. Or to add contrast!

On top of that, we can adjust the leg length to subtly change your sofa’s height. Taller legs tend to create a more formal and open feel, and shorter legs offer a cosy, more casual finish.

The finishing touches

Why not create a truly bespoke design with the addition of buttons, studs or piping? We can incorporate button detailing into your sofa’s seat and back cushions to create a more decorative tufted finish. Perfect for adding character to an otherwise simple sofa design!

Likewise, metallic studs can integrated into the frame and arms to give your sofa that little extra something. Gold, silver or bronze – just tell us which tone you’d prefer!

Last but not least, how about a piped trim? As well as giving your sofa structure and helping to reinforce seams, piping can enhance your sofa’s overall aesthetic. Choose matching trims for a more refined look, or add interest by using contrasting piping to create a two-tone effect.
